Introduction: Why You Need a Website

A website is the first step to building an online presence and creating a brand. It is the most important part of your digital marketing strategy, because it can be used as a starting point for all other marketing efforts.

A website should be well-designed, easy to navigate and informative. A good website will provide visitors with all the information they need in order to make a purchase or contact you. It should also be responsive and mobile-friendly so that it can easily be accessed from any device, anywhere in the world.

If you are looking to get started in affiliate marketing, build an online business or boost the online presence of your non profit, then having a website is a must…

This is like having a house online that people can visit you from all around the world.

Step 1. Designing Your Website

The design of your website is a crucial factor in determining whether or not you’ll have success with it. It’s important to make sure that the design of your website is up-to-date, eye-catching, and easy to navigate.

When designing a website it is good to keep the design simple, but also attractive to the visitor. A good way to start designing your website is by making sure that the home page has enough content on it to capture a visitor’s attention and get them interested in exploring the rest of the site.

You can also use landing pages as an integral part of your website because they are what visitors will see first when they visit your site.

They should be designed with persuasion in mind and make visitors want to convert as quickly as possible.

Step 2. Choosing the Right Domain Name

When choosing the domain name for your site, you want it t be easy to remember and easy to spell. It should be easy for the users to find your website.

If you are not sure what a domain name is, this what people will type in the search engine in order for your website to show up.

Examples of domain names are:

You do not want to put numbers in your domain name, as this can be confusing to the visitor as not knowing whether to type 1 or one.

A domain name generator can help you find the right domain name for your business. You just have to type in keywords or words that you associate with your business and it will generate domains based on what you inputted.

Choosing a domain name can be hard, but there are tools out there that make it easier. A domain name generator is one of those tools that can help you find the right domain name for your business.

The bottom line when choosing a domain name keep it simple, short and to the point.

Step 3. Registering Your Domain Name

Once you decide on a domain name you want to register it. There are many domain registrars are companies that allow you to register your domain name with them.

They charge a fee for this service and usually offer additional services such as site hosting, email, and other domain-related services. Domain names usually run about $9 to $15 a year.

The most popular domain registrar is GoDaddy which has the most domains registered on its platform. Other popular domain registrars include Namecheap, Hover, 1&1 and Google Domains.

If you are a beginner and are not ready to pay for a custom domain you can also get what is called a subdomain and these are usually free.

The only thing with having a subdomain is the company that provides the domain for you, usually puts their name in the your domain name.

Here is an example:  Say I got a free domain a place called siterubix. If I get a FREE domain name from them it would be something like this www.vocapetown.siterubix.com

I don’t recommend having a subdomain for too long, but it is ok if you are barely getting started.

Step 4. Setting up Web Hosting and Creating Your Pages

After you get your domain name, you then want to set up your website hosting service.

Web hosting services are a vital part of the creation and maintenance of your website.

Web hosting is the service that enables you to host your website or blog online. It provides you with a server that has access to the internet so that you can upload files, such as images, videos, and documents, to your website. Web hosting services are essential when it comes to creating and maintaining web pages.

There are many different types of web hosting services available on the market today. The most popular type is shared web hosting which offers a monthly subscription fee for unlimited bandwidth and disk space usage.

Web hosting can range from $3 a month all the way up to $99 a month. It depends on the features that you would like with your hosting and the type of server you want.

Once again if you are barely starting out, I wouldn’t go with to expensive of a hosting company, but once you get the hang of web design and developing your online presence you can upgrade later on.
